Sil Lim Tao, Small or Little Ideas, the first of three hand forms, consists of the most basic hand movments that the student will utilize within Wing Chun. Sil Lim Tao first directs the student into Yim Gee Kim Yeung Mah, or the Catch Goat Stance, this helps students build a well rooted or solid, grounded structure. As students study Sil Lim Tao they will also become familiar with the Chinese terminologies, associated with the movements of this hand form.
